Manhattan, Kan. – On Saturday, August 24 the Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) will be hosting Da Vinci Day from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. In celebration of the 500th anniversary of Da Vinci’s legacy and the summer blockbuster exhibit, Dream with Da Vinci, guests of all ages are invited to join the FHDC for a day filled with music, performers, crafts and science experiments!
Design and build your own parachutes and model boats. Then get hands-on with simple machines like pulleys and levers. Other interactive, learning activities will include catapults, virtual reality, Legos, Frobel blocks and more. Plus, guests will be treated to performances from the K-State Historical Performance Ensemble at 11:30 AM & 1:30 PM.
Regular admission rates apply. Admission is $9 for adults (18-64 years old), $7 for military, students, educators, or seniors (65+ years old), $4 for youth (2-17 years old), free for children under two years old. FHDC Members are always free and we honor ASTC reciprocal benefits.
During Da Vinci Day, guests will also receive admission to the exhibits inside the FHDC. This includes Dream with Da Vinci created by the Curious Kids’ Museum and Food First created by AIB International.
