Manhattan, Kan. – On July 21, the Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) will be hosting Dino Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. This family-friendly event partners with the University of Kansas Natural History Museum and Fort Hays State University’s Sternberg Museum of Natural History.
Join us for a day of everything dinosaurs in celebration of the FHDC’s latest temporary exhibit, Be the Dinosaur! This exhibit is open until September 3, 2018.
Activities will include a Paleontologist Meet and Greet and Expert Dino Talks. Learn more about the field of paleontology and dive deeper with three presentations on prehistoric life. Watch live fossil prep work on a real Mosasaur skull and a demonstration of the casting process. Kids will have the opportunity to make their very own dinosaur hat to take home.
During the event, guests also receive admission to the Be the Dinosaur exhibit. Visitors will use virtual technology to eat, sleep and live as a dinosaur.
Regular admission rates apply. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission is $9 for adults (18-64 years old), $7 for military, students, educators, or seniors (65+ years old), $4 for youth (2-17 years old), free for children under two years old and free for FHDC members.
