Manhattan, Kan. – 786 members – 508 of them new, joined the Flint Hills Discovery Center’s (FHDC) membership program during their annual drive in April and May of this year.
The Center’s Assistant Director and Development Officer, Katharine Hensler stated, “We had high hopes for the drive this year, but we’re thrilled that we met and exceeded our goal by such a margin! Our team set a goal to increase our membership by 10% and we were able to increase it by over 22%. We are incredibly grateful for our members and the support they show our facility.”
Members of the FHDC enjoy year-long, free admission to the Center, the temporary exhibits, and select special events. They also receive discounts on programming and in the gift store, invitations to members’ events, subscription to the FHDC monthly newsletter, as well as membership to the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC), which offers free or discounted admission to Science Centers throughout the nation and internationally.
Hensler mentioned, “While we heavily market the membership program during the organized drives, membership is available throughout the year, so even if you missed the drive, you can still become a member or renew your membership anytime!”
Membership is offered at $30/adult; $27/military, senior, student, educator; $15 youth; $13.50 military youth; $80/family. The FHDC also offers Patron Memberships for members who wish to contribute to the FHDC at an additional rate.
