Manhattan, Kan. – The Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) will host an 8-Leg Adventure Weekend on June 8 & 9 featuring a Pop-Up Exhibit and Wolf Spider Night Walks.
The 8-Leg Adventure Pop-Up Exhibit will be on display Saturday, June 9 from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. This interactive exhibit will allow visitors to experience hands-on activities, encounters with live animals and more. Prizes will be given to those who complete the spider adventures. Regular admission rates apply.
The event is sponsored by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks and Tourism’s Chickadee Checkoff Program.
Two Wolf Spider Night Walks will occur on Friday, June 8 & Saturday, June 9 from 8:30-10:30 PM. Visitors will see and handle real spiders before embarking on a night walk to find, catch and release wolf spiders. This event is $3 for FHDC Members and $4 for non-members. Pre-registration is required.
