Get a behind the scenes look at the Tuttle Creek Dam with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The tour will explain why and how the dam was built. Find out how the dam is operated and the benefits it brings to the local area. On the tour you will visit Tuttle Creek dam, tower, and spillway with Natural Resource Specialist Angelia Lentz as your guide. All participants should be comfortable walking and climbing stairs.

Explore the Flint Hills and beyond with the Tallgrass Tour Bus! Join the Discovery Center as we embark on day trips to exciting locations in central Kansas.
Special Requirements Apply to this Tour
• Participants must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs
• Due to security concerns, all participants must be US citizens
Restrictions inside the tower and spillway:
• No Cameras
• No Cellphones
• No Bags
Round trip travel and tour are included. Tour leaves the Flint Hills Discovery Center at 8:00 AM and returns no later than 1:00 PM. No lunch is provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a re-sealable water bottle. Light snacks will be provided.
Pre-registration is required by May 31 at 5:00 PM. Pre-register online, by phone at 785-587-2726 or in person at the Flint Hills Discovery Center.
