Join us as featured speakers dive deeper into our two fall exhibits, Bison and Wolves and Wild Lands.

Behind the Exhibits lectures are FREE and open to the public. Lectures take place inside the Flint Hill Discovery Center's second floor classroom.

Conserving Bison in the Flint Hills
with Brian Obermeyer | Thursday, September 20 from 6:30-7:30pm
Come learn about The Nature Conservancy’s role restoring bison to the prairie and its decade-long agreement with the National Park Service to conserve the most unique bison genetics. Brian Obermeyer has been with The Nature Conservancy for 16 years, directing the Flint Hills Initiative in Kansas and guiding whole-system conservation in the broader region. Brian works with ranchers, landowners and other stakeholders to help preserve the biological integrity of this unique region. Brian holds a master’s degree in Environmental Biology from Emporia State University.
