Fund-a-Bus Grant

The Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) are proud to announce the ASTC Fund-a-Bus program. Ten $100 transportation scholarships are available for eligible K-12 school groups visiting the Flint Hills Discovery Center in the 2016-2017 school year.

This funding opportunity is open to any public, private, or tribal school located in the 24 county Flint Hills eco-region. In order to support those schools with the greatest distance to travel, applications will be accepted according to a specific timeline (see below).

Schools awarded grant funding must provide evidence of transportation costs in the form of a receipt, invoice, or other official documentation. Field trips to the Discovery Center must be completed by August 31, 2017. Checks will be mailed only after the completion of the field trip and submission of documentation.  Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Group 1 counties starting January 16 at 8:00 a.m.

Kay (OK), Osage (OK), Cowley, Chataququa, Butler, Elk, Greenwood, Woodson

Group 2 counties starting January 30 at 8:00 a.m.

Marion, Chase, Lyon, Dickinson, Morris, Washington, Marshall, Sedgwick, Harvey, Clay, Shawnee, Jackson

Group 3 counties starting February 13 at 8:00 a.m.

Riley, Geary, Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee
